Caleb Bratcher Such a detailed and nuanced ambient album. Every time I listen to it I hear something I didn't before. Favorite track: 12:41 AM.

Dave Mantel A masterwork in subtlety. The third full length from the once duo, now trio, Hotel Neon, Context exists in a realm many ambient and drone musicians aspire to achieve, and yet so few do. Walking that place between places- Context is a work that can be at once dissected infinitely due to its dense layering and textural complexity, and completely ignored because of its minimal instrumentation and glacial melodic pacing. I prefer the former. This is the perfect blend for enthusiasts of the genre.

DJHDD The previous album Remnants is on high rotation for those times when you need to sleep or even drown out other noise (the party next door). This is akin to listening to Brian Eno's tinnitus, full of warm sweeping drones that cover you like a fluffy blanket. Perfect if you like Stars of the Lid. Favorite track: 12:41 AM.

Misha Cherkashin Context is like a library of burned diaries in an abandoned home which leaves you in a state of wonder, craving for the context of each life you get a glimpse into. 12:41 AM starts off welcoming you into this abandoned home & presents you with the soothing ambience Hotel Neon has perfected with a subtle hint of eeriness which helps sets the album's tone. The album progresses into a masterpiece of layered ambiance with each song having sound scapes that in turn help place a setting for your mind to wonder through. Context has found a way to associate the simplest of sounds with raw emotion & old memories. I really believe that this is Hotel Neon's best work to date & I can confidently say it has placed them as my favorite ambient band, I hope whoever reads this gives it a go & enjoys the ride. Favorite track: 12:41 AM.
